How we publish
FareTruth posts evidence for shoppers. Machines handle the daily path. People handle exceptions.
Three kinds of public cards
- In the press — headlines from trusted outlets about observed price gaps (you were shown more than peers), tools that help you check your number, and how stores set or show prices. Auto-published when the score and outlet clear the rails. Always labeled as press, not a FareTruth lab result.
- Shopper reports — anonymous totals by vendor and practice. We never post your name, photos, or bill details. A report is a lead, not a verdict.
- FareTruth-verified finding — a human-reviewed result with sample size and a review bar. We do not auto-publish these.
What we never say
We do not call a practice illegal, a rip-off, or fraud. We do not sell rank or suppress a vendor. We never sell or share your personal data.
Appeals
Vendors who believe a card is wrong can dispute it. A person reviews disputes. Until then, the card stays labeled as press or a shopper lead.
